Dear Families,

          A couple of things we want to share with you:

1.     We are out of Kleenex, lots of runny noses! If you can please donate a kleenex box at your earliest convenience we would appreciate it!

2.    We have graham crackers and pretzels for Valentine’s Day next week. If you would like to donate something (please refer to listed items on the letter I sent home, found on the blog as well), please email me at lhump@pps.net  Please send your child with a shoebox or paper bag to collect Valentines next Tuesday.

3.    Don’t forget to check our blog. You can find important information on it as well as pictures of our adventures in class: http://mrslhumphrey.blogspot.com/

4.    Know of any families with children entering Kindergarten? Encourage them to check out Atkinson!

5.    Coming up, we will be sending math homework called “home connections.” There is no need to return the activity. Enjoy playing the game/activity with your child.

In class field trip

We had an in class field trip from the Audubon Society of Portland. We shared observations, discussed different animals and their habitats. We examined animal skins and skulls. We are so fortunate to have had this opportunity!

Valentine's Day

Dear Families,                                                     

      We will be having a low key Valentine’s Day celebration sometime during the day on Tuesday, February 14^th. Please remember: If you choose to send valentines, include one for every child in the class. We have 27 children in the class. Please wait until February 14^th to send the valentines to school and have your child keep them in their backpack.  You may send candy, but children will not be allowed to eat any candy until they have arrived home.

         If you would like to donate snacks or beverages for our celebration, please let me know so that I know we have enough. We also need paper plates and napkins. Please no nuts, dairy products and no homemade treats. If your child has special dietary needs and you would prefer a small treat from home, please send it with them on Tuesday. Thanks!

HOMEWORK: please decorate a small bag (lunch size) or shoebox to collect your valentines. You may bring it on Tuesday February 14^th.
